Blade Runner 2049 to be Expanded by Screenwriter Michael Green

At Comic-Con NY today, it was announced that Blade Runner 2049 screenwriter Michael Green in a new series to be published by Titan Comics. The new comic will continue the story of the film and will expand the story of the 2017 Ridley Scott film.

There are no firm details yet as to what the story will be, but it will focus on the lives of Rick Deckard and K. Michael Green will work with collaborator Mike Johnson to bring the visions of author Philip K. Dick, Ridley Scott, and Denis Villeneuve, to life in the new as yet untitled comic.

Titan Comics is an excellent choice to bring the world of Blade Runner to life as they have built an excellent reputation bringing intellectual properties to life in comic form having published properties like Doctor Who, Rivers of London, and Warhammer 40,000. With their previous experience, I expect Titan Comics will take this new project seriously and handle it well.

This project excites me very much. As a longtime fan of Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and then the films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 I cannot wait to see what this team creates. While the release date of 19 November 2019 would be a nice nod to the Blade Runner film, but I hope we don’t have to wait that long.

Expect more details about a release date, art teams, and other news to follow in the coming months.
