Good Omens – Waiting for the Apocalypse

This past weekend the New York Comic Con was held and with it a trailer for the upcoming Amazon Prime series Good Omens based on the book of the same name by the late Sir Terry Pratchett and the not-so-late genius Neil Gaiman was debuted.

Good Omens is the hilariously brilliant story of a demon Crowley, played by David Tennant, and an angel Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen who work together to prevent the anti-christ, Adam, from bringing about the End of Days. This a very simplistic and (most would say) a wildly misleading description of the story, but then I don’t want to spoil it for those of you who haven’t read the book.

I’ve been looking forward to the release of this series ever since it was announced in 2017. I’ve watched the trailer a dozen times already and what irks me most is the lack of a firm release date. It’s utterly agonizing. I think I’ll just dig out my copy of the book and read it yet again. Sigh. Not that it’s a chore mind you. I’m just growing impatient with excitement.

Of all the trailers released at the NYCC, this is the only one that has my undivided attention.

Of all the trailers released at the NYCC, this is the only one that has my undivided attention. I have very high hopes that it will be devastatingly brilliant.

It looks fantastic. See for yourself.
